A bit about me...
I have been an animal-lover ever since I was a young girl and have grown up with many different pets throughout my life. When I was at school, I volunteered at our local Blue Cross Animal Adoption Centre, and was later offered a part-time job there once I was old enough to be employed as an Animal Care Assistant looking after the cattery, cleaning, feeding, and grooming. 
At school, while all of my peers did their work experience placements at doctors' or lawyers' offices, I chose to do my placement at a Dog Groomers salon - much to the disappointment of my teachers! But it is what I wanted to do and I loved it! When I finished my GCSEs, instead of doing A-Levels I went to college to study a Higher National Diploma in Animal Care, and I also did a work placement in a Zoo! 🐯🦒
However, in my twenties, my path took a different turn. Growing up in Torquay, I was drawn to the hospitality industry, and after studying for a degree in hospitality management, I managed restaurants and travelled the world working in hotels. 🌍
I moved to London to continue my career and worked in some incredible places. Whilst working in hotels, restaurants and events, I also had part-time jobs at a doggy day-care centre and pet-sitting. So I have always kept close to my love of animals, even though my career ended up in a different direction. I had truly wonderful experiences over those years.
But...
Since covid, lockdown, and subsequent job losses, I have realised the importance of being truly happy in life and within 🪷 and for me, that means caring for animals, spending time outside and in nature, and working for myself and my own satisfaction. 
So, I started advertising on pet-sitting websites and have been busy all summer with bookings. So in September 2023 I decided to take the plunge and branch out on my own - the result being 'Happy Paws' ! 
My services include looking after pets in their own homes for owners whilst on holiday, or just for the day/afternoon/overnight, as well as regular dog-walking and checking in on other pets whilst their owners are at work or away.
I am DBS checked and have a solid background of house-sitting and pet-sitting in the past, so my customers can be assured they will be in safe hands. 🙏🏼
